How long have you been djing?

17 years.

What influenced you to get into house music?

A visit to Club 88 in East Orange, NJ back in 1986.

Who were some of your influences way back when?

DJ Burt, Tony Humphries, Timmy Regisford, Merlin Bobb, Bruce Berry.

Who are some of your influences today?

Louie Vega, Tony Humphries, Timmy Regisford. How do you feel about dj's who do not have good mixing skills; but the crowd still jumps up and down because of who the dj is?

To me, mixing is only one of the necessary skills to be a good DJ. Far more important to me is programming. I'd much rather hear a good programmer play records without mixing them than hear someone seamlessly blend records for hours on end with no direction.

What is your favorite city to play in and why?

Washington DC, because that's where my residency is.

How was your experience in Los Angeles?

Never been there.

What should the vinyl collectors being looking out for by you?

Anything we've ever done on Large Records.

What are some of the current projects you are working on?

"Ride The Storm" by Ray Hurley for our label.

Any last words?

Peace, Doug
